Emotional education that connects: what we took away from the III International Congress of the RIEEB in Bogotá

On 28, 29 and 30 August, we were fortunate enough to participate in the III International Congress of the RIEEB (International Network for Emotional Education and Well-being), held in Bogotá.

An event that brought together professionals, teachers, researchers and enthusiasts of emotional education from different parts of the world, united by a common purpose: to build a more humane, conscious and well-being-centred education.

Learn, share and grow together

El primer dia vam estar en el Mestratge en Intel·ligència Emocional i Benestar de la Universitat del Rosari , on al costat d’Angie compartim una formació amb professorat.
It was a space for dialogue, reflection and shared learning, where we explored how to bring emotional education and emotional intelligence to educational and professional environments. An opportunity to sow the seeds of change and open horizons towards more conscious and humane practices in the classroom.

Emotional wellbeing as a pillar of change

During the three days of the conference, research, experiences and best practices were presented that highlighted the importance of recognising emotional well-being as an essential pillar in schools, businesses, families and society.

We had the honour of presenting the La Granja Method and the work we do at Ability Training Centre, as well as giving a talk entitled ‘Emotional activation through play’. We shared how experiential learning, the body and emotional connection can transform not only the way we teach, but also the way we relate to and interact with each other in any setting.

A community that inspires

We take away much more than knowledge from this conference: we take away inspiration, gratitude, and hope.
Meeting and sharing with so many people committed to emotional education and wellbeing confirms that more and more of us are working towards real change in the way we support children, young people and adults.
