Our Commitment to the SDGs

On September 25, 2015, world leaders adopted a set of global goals to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each of these goals has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

At La Granja, we are aware of the importance of working as a team to achieve these global objectives, and for this reason, we have defined our commitments as an organization:

3.

Good Health and Well-Being

Ensuring a healthy life and promoting well-being at all ages is essential for sustainable development.

The relationship between the environment and health is a central focus in all of La Granja’s activities. Various scientific studies confirm the positive impact of forest contact on improving health and emotional well-being: reducing stress and irritability, and improving cognitive ability, among other benefits.

7.

Affordable and Clean Energy

We are committed to progressively increasing the use of renewable energy in our facilities by 50% before 2030, adapting them for more energy-efficient consumption.

We have electric vehicles for internal and external travel, fulfilling the goal of reducing our carbon footprint.

4.

Quality Education

We understand quality education as one that includes teaching personal and social skills for the comprehensive development of children and young people.

Through our emotional education programs, La Granja fosters and trains emotional management and autonomy, contributing to the creation of educational environments free from violence and committed to sustainability and human rights.

15.

Life on Land

In 2016, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) highlighted the need to collaborate with the natural environment to protect human health.

At La Granja, we protect the forest ecosystems surrounding our facilities, which we use as a resource in our educational programs.

Additionally, we collaborate with CREAF in research demonstrating the connection between exposure to the environment and improvements in people's health indicators.
